Detecting commutative permeability in physics
Web$\begingroup$ While you were getting a lot of good answers from a mathematical point of view, I think most are missing the physics. From a physical point of view it is not true that it's the non-commutativity that "leads" to the uncertainty. It is the other way around: we are observing uncertainty in our measurements and need a mathematical tool to model it. WebMar 4, 2024 · The Commutator of two operators A, B is the operator C = [A, B] such that C = AB − BA. Example 2.5.1. If the operators A and B are scalar operators (such as the position operators) then AB = BA and the commutator is always zero. Example 2.5.2. If the operators A and B are matrices, then in general AB ≠ BA.

WebFeb 20, 2015 · The non-commuting selfadjoint operators are the selfadjoint generators of the representation of the group in the Hilbert space. Mutually commutative means that every operator in the set commutes with every other one. This implies that, if the operators in question are observables, they can all be measured simultaneously.

WebThe permittivity is a measure of opposition - the higher the permittivity, the lower the electric field from a given source of electric field (a charge). The permeability is similar in that it measures to what extent the vacuum can support a magnetic field. However it differs from the permittivity in that it's a measure of compliance - the ...
WebMagnetic inductance. Physics portal. v. t. e. Magnetic reluctance, or magnetic resistance, is a concept used in the analysis of magnetic circuits. It is defined as the ratio of magnetomotive force (mmf) to magnetic flux.
