In 1892, possibly as a cost-saving measure, the City council ordered the Library moved to rooms in the City Hall. In 1902 a bylaw was passed to limit library funding to $5,000 per year.
WebGVPL library cards are available for a fee to visitors. Youth who attend school (K-12) in the GVPL service area but do not live within its boundaries can receive a library card without paying the visitor/non-resident fee.
